wants and woes.

Siblings and I many years ago.

It's days and weeks like this that make life seem grand.

For one, summer has finally arrived! I could just spend all of my days outdoors. If only I didn't have to work. Alas, I must make a living somehow.

But spending time with friends and family are the best. On Monday I had the privilege of spending some quality girls time with old friends. Stuffing ourselves with guacamole, chips and popcorn, we talked about life, and of course, the Bachelorette.

But my favourite? Believe it or not: the weekly dinners at my parents' house. Truth be told, I miss living with people and having loved ones near by. Sitting around for a few hours and talking about our lives, enjoying each other's company and the great sunshine, I feel at peace.
It's great to have people in our lives that love us unconditionally, that listen to our wants and woes. But that can also make us laugh, and simply enjoy the time that we have to spend together. We take it so much for granted, and don't realize how good we have it until it's no longer there. That may not be my case, but simply moving out on my own was a big realization. I no longer had people around to just sit and visit with, to talk about my life with. So now when I visit my parents I find myself staying longer, chatting more. I actually miss my siblings sometimes! (Who would have thought?!)

It's great to have a big family! I need to appreciate that more, and be grateful for the time that I get to spend with them. Hopefully there will be many more to come!

J.
