colours of fall.

For as long as I can remember, summer has always been my favourite (and only bearable) season. This is the case for most people, especially in Alberta. This past year though, I've noticed a shift in perspective. I'm loving fall! September and October are often the start of new things, and not just in the changing of the weather. This is usually when people go back to school, or start a new class (like me with ballet). Shows are back up and running on tv, and everyone is home for the next few months.
But the outdoors is what I notice most. The colours are magnificent! Leaves begin to change, and the setting sun produces fabulous colours and shadows. I even don't mind the slight chill! Its refreshing, and makes me feel alive. Last night I went for a walk to enjoy the last few hours of warmth and sunlight. Here are some photos that I took of nature and its magnificence:

As you can tell, I have a fascination with leaves. I think they are absolutely beautiful, in all shapes and colours. I want to try to preserve some of them and their brilliance, possibly by dipping in wax (I confess that I saw this on pinterest).

Now, how beautiful is the sky? I can't begin to wrap my mind around how vast it is, especially at night with the magnitude of stars that light it up. It just confirms in my mind that there is a Creator.

These trees with their hanging branches I love. I could lay under it and just stare above me for hours. It is its own canopy.

Lastly, the bark itself, and bare branches! A sure sign that winter is coming. So enjoy this beautiful season while you can, before all leaves are absent, and instead cold snow covers the ground.
